Group Manager - Regional Operations

Reporting to the Executive General Manager - Sales & Operations, the Regional Operations Manager is responsible for financial and operational results across WA’s Regional Operations. The role drives strategic planning, budget performance, leadership of Branch and Operations Support leaders, and customer engagement. A strong focus on team leadership is key to ensuring branches are equipped to deliver safety, P&L, and strategic objectives.

 

Roster:  Monday – Friday, 8.5Hours per day (including unpaid meal breaks)

Location: South Guildford, WA

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Drive Strategic and Operational Planning: Deliver long-term and annual plans aligned with company goals
  • Financial Leadership: Manage and monitor large-scale operational and capital budgets while meeting or exceeding financial performance targets
  • People & Culture Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a large team (7 direct reports and 450 indirect reports), emphasising safety and talent growth
  • Regional Site Oversight: Oversee WA Regional Operations, ensuring compliance with contractual and operational requirements
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, ensuring satisfaction and resolving escalated issues effectively
  • Continuous Improvement & Sustainability: Drive innovation and system enhancements for better outcomes
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure delivery of safe, efficient, and sustainable operations across regional branches by aligning business processes with strategic goals
  • Governance & Compliance: Develop business cases and make strategic decisions within delegated authority, ensuring compliance with policies and objectives
  • Safety Leadership: Lead by example in promoting WesTrac’s Zero Harm safety culture across all regional operations

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, or similar, with 10+ years of experience
  • Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong financial and analytical skills to manage budgets and make data-led decisions
  • Clear, confident communicator who can engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Track record of improving operational processes and driving sustainable results
  • Committed to safety leadership and cultivating a culture of Zero Harm
  • Agile and decisive under pressure, balancing priorities and deadlines
