An exciting opportunity is now available for a Commercial and Contracts Specialist to join our team in South Guildford.

 

Reporting to the Commercial and Contracts Manager, the Commercial and Contracts Specialist is responsible for ensuring commercial contract best practices are consistently applied across the business. The role supports the embedding of appropriate commercial policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure due diligence, compliance, and risk mitigation throughout the contract lifecycle.

 

In this full‑time, permanent position, you will play a key role in guiding and educating the business to ensure sales contracts are executed using best‑practice principles and with minimal risk.

 

With a collaborative style and engaging approach, the successful candidate will build and maintain strong professional relationships across the organisation. Drawing on extensive experience in contract negotiation, formation, and management, you will provide informed recommendations, practical support, and constructive challenge on a wide range of commercial and contractual matters.

 

 

Location:  South Guildford, WA

Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours (including lunch break)

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Manage the end‑to‑end contract negotiation process to support the business in achieving its sales contracting objectives, ensuring alignment with company standards and benchmarks.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure pre and post‑award compliance and effective delivery of contractual obligations across the assigned contract portfolio.
  • Provide expert guidance on the interpretation of contractual terms and conditions, assess commercial and operational risks, and recommend strategies to maximise commercial outcomes.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal legal consultation on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external customers to enhance the customer experience and drive continuous improvement in contracting processes and disciplines.

 

Experience and Knowledge:

 

  • Degree qualifications in Commerce, Law, Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Relevant demonstrated experience in contract management with strong knowledge of commercial and advanced contracting principles in understanding contract metrics, deliverables, and commercial performance.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing letters, variations, and scope‑of‑work documentation.
  • Highly regarded - Exposure to project management methodologies or project delivery environments as well as experience or involvement in issue identification, escalation, and supporting resolution strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills with the ability to influence, engage, and align diverse groups across the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimise commercial value and drive improvements across the value chain.
  • Professional approach with experience building internal and external networks to foster positive relationships and collaborative solutions.
  • Meticulous and advanced computer literacy, including proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite
