Maintenance Planner

Reporting to the Area Manager – Engines, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for the effective scheduling and coordination of associated Service workshop work. The Maintenance Planner is required to work closely with the Service Department and Workshop Coordinators to ensure that the requirements for all Service repairs and customer specification work is appropriately planned and executed. Duties performed encompass the coordination of all applicable resources required during the scope of work such as allocating appropriate build bays, tools, external supplies, parts and labour to ensure the schedule is delivered on time as per the customer expectations.

 

 

Roster:  Mon – Fri 8.5 hours per day (including unpaid meal breaks)

Location: South Guildford, WA

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Schedule service work orders by reviewing forecasts and planning graphs to ensure adequate labour resources
  • Generate and supply Gantt charts for repair durations and target times
  • Ensure availability of 'build bays' and tooling for repairs before execution
  • Collaborate with the Workshop Supervisor to manage and articulate repair scopes and requirements
  • Update schedule and work order tracking documentation to provide accurate, up-to-date information
  • Monitor work progress and liaise with Store Supervisors to ensure arrangements for work order completion

 

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate with several years of post-qualification experience
  • Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Project Management, with skills in creating detailed Gantt Charts
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High-level customer service skills, with the ability to understand and negotiate customer requirements with stakeholders
  • Advanced planning and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities to meet objectives

 

 

Previous experience we find successful in the role:

  • Post-qualification experience, including 2 years in maintenance planning/scheduling.
  • Previous experience with Caterpillar products and information systems
  • Strong understanding of Warranty and Goodwill claims
