Laboratory Aide

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, the Laboratory Aide is responsible for unpacking and sorting deliveries, general cleaning of the lab (including sweeping, mopping, emptying bins, and refilling consumables), and registering samples into the lab system. The role involves manual labour tasks and maintaining the cleanliness of the lab, with occasional assistance in preparing samples for analysis.

 

Casual Laboratory Aide role available in our South Guildford state of the art oil & fluid analysis Laboratory. Gain hands-on lab experience and exposure to cutting-edge laboratory and automation systems exclusive to WesTrac WA – the only lab of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unpacking and sorting deliveries
  • General cleaning and presentation of the lab (sweeping, mopping, emptying bins, refilling consumables)
  • Registering samples into the lab system
  • Assisting with manual labour tasks and maintaining lab cleanliness
  • Occasionally preparing samples for analysis

 

About you:

  • Experience in a laboratory environment, particularly in fast-paced, high-volume sample processing labs, is advantageous
  • LIMS and automation experience highly regarded
  • High attention to detail and established time management and multitasking skills
  • Comfortable with manual handling and lifting
  • Flexible with rosters and shifts to meet varying operational requirements, including occasional weekend work
