As the Drill Technician you will be equipped with the latest training on new model equipment to ensure you are setup to succeed. You will work with a highly supportive group and be part of a continuous improvement and solutions network team. 

 

About HMS & Drills: 

WesTrac’s newly established HMS & Drill Services business unit is driving the future of aftermarket solutions for Heavy Mining Shovels and Drill Rigs. With state-of-the-art workshops and facilities under development, we’re building a passionate, high-performing team ready to shape what’s next in mining services.

 

Location:  FIFO - Relocation available / will pay for Interstate travel

 

Hourly Rate: $55 - $90 an hour - Dependent on EXP

 

Roster Options:

8 days on, 6 off OR 14 days on, 7 off OR 14 days on, 14 off – 12.5hrs (Inclusive of 30mins meal break)

 

What you'll do:

  • The Drills Technician is the link between the Customer, Westrac and Caterpillar for all Drills technical product information, documentation, and continuous improvement concepts 
  • Pro-actively assist with Drills preventative maintenance schedules, maintenance teams for planning work scopes and Drills trouble shooting.
  • Technical reporting and product instruction/training strategies to improve Drill product knowledge to the wider work group.
  • Accountable to increase the all-round performance, reliability, and availability of the designated Drills product line.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • HD Plant mechanic qualification/certification
  • HR-Licence
  • 5+ years post trade relevant experience including Field Service exposure with Drills
  • Ability to work autonomously or with others & lead customer work groups onsite, instruct/teach & knowledge share
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel various mine sites
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude and experience on surface blast hole drill rigs
