This is your chance to join our world‑class Component Rebuild Centre as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Plant Mechanic, working hands‑on with advanced tooling, iconic Caterpillar machinery, and a team committed to excellence.



Roster:
Monday to Friday – 5 days on, 2 days off
10.5 hours per day (inclusive of 30 minute unpaid meal break)

What You’ll Do

Working with our Workshop Supervisor, you’ll rebuild and repair Caterpillar powertrain components, including:

  • Disassembly, inspection, and assembly of major components (transmissions, final drives, etc.)
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out high-quality repairs
  • Ensuring all work meets WesTrac’s safety and quality standards

 

Skills and Experience 

  • Australian-recognised trade certificate (Light Vehicle, Heavy Duty, Bus & Truck)
  • Dogging and forklift tickets (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with Cat components (highly desirable)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Commitment to safe work practices (JSA, Take 5)
