Join WesTrac's Diggers & Drills Support (DDS) team and play a key role supporting CAT® drills and mining excavators across Western Australia.

 

The DDS team is a dedicated product support division that provides aftermarket support to the growing population of Cat® Drills and Hydraulic Mining Shovels across WA. Through our regional branch network, site support technicians and product specialists, we deliver specialised hands-on technical support, maintenance expertise and breakdown response to help customers maximise equipment performance and uptime.

 

Reporting to the Supervisor, you'll work across a range of customer sites supporting maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting activities on CAT® drills and excavators. This is a hands-on role suited to a trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic who enjoys working both autonomously and as part of a close-knit field service team.

 

Roster

• 8/6 FIFO roster
• 12-hour shifts

 

What You'll Do

• Perform maintenance, repairs and fault finding on CAT® drills and excavators
• Support planned maintenance, shutdowns and breakdown response activities
• Assemble and commission new equipment including CAT® MD6310 and MD6250 drills, and 6015-6060 excavators
• Deliver safe, high-quality workmanship while meeting customer expectations
• Work collaboratively with site-based and regional support teams to maximise equipment availability
• Build strong customer relationships through professional service and technical support

 

About You

• Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification (Cert III Mobile Plant Technology)
• 2+ Mining industry experience working on CAT drills, CAT excavators and/or large mobile CAT mining equipment
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
• Ability to work independently in a field service environment while contributing to team outcomes
• Customer-focused attitude with a proactive approach to problem solving
• Working at Heights, Forklift and/or Telehandler tickets highly regarded
