Reporting to the Hydraulics Supervisor, the Fitter Machinist will join our Hydraulics Department on a full-time basis at our South Guildford facility. This role is ideal for a trade-qualified machinist who enjoys hands-on work, precision machining, and contributing to a high-performing team in a safety-first environment.

 

About the Role

You will be responsible for the overhaul, repair, and manufacture of hydraulic components, supporting both internal operations and customer requirements. Working in a collaborative workshop environment, you will operate manual machinery, maintain quality standards, and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently.

Roster:
Monday to Friday – 5 days on, 2 days off 2 weeks of days shift and 2 weeks of night shift 
10.5 hours per day (inclusive of 30 minute unpaid meal break)

 

What You’ll Do

  • Overhaul, repair, and manufacture components including: Hydraulic cylinders, Hydraulic pumps,Pump drives.
  • Operate manual machinery such as:Horizontal Borer, Milling machines, Manual lathes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and machine components to tight tolerances
  • Prioritise workloads to meet customer and operational requirements
  • Complete work within quoted timeframes and quality standards
  • Maintain a strong safety focus using tools such as JSAs and Take 5s
  • Perform general workshop duties and support continuous improvement initiatives

 

Skills & Experience

  • Australian-recognised First-Class Machinist or Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience operating Horizontal Boring Machines
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Proven experience machining to tight tolerances and timeframes 
  • Competent using measuring equipment such as:
    • Callipers
    • Dial indicators
    • Bore micrometers
  • Strong time management skills and basic computer literacy

Desirable:

  • Forklift licence
  • Rigging and/or dogging licence
