WesTrac is expanding our state of the art Machine Shop with new CNC technology to support major growth across our operations. With significant investment in new machinery and a full pipeline of work, we’re looking for First Class Machinists to operate premium CNC equipment, support 24/7 operations, and help commission cutting-edge technology.

About the Role:

We have multiple full-time Machinist roles available due to increased workload and the introduction of new CNC machines. As part of our high‑performing Machine Shop team in South Guildford, you’ll operate CNC Vertical Borer, Manual Vertical Borer, CNC Horizontal borer to deliver safe, accurate and high‑quality machining outcomes.

CNC Horizontal Borer – 4x4x4x4 Roster

Manual Vertical Borer – 4x4x4x4 Roster    

CNC Mill – 5/2 Roster

CNC Vertical Machine – 5/2 Roster

 

What You’ll Do

  • Operate CNC/manual machines
  • Interpret engineering drawings and machine to tight tolerances
  • Prioritise workload and meet customer expectations
  • Apply safety processes such as JSAs and Take 5s
  • Complete work within quoted timeframes

Roster

  • Standard: 5 days on, 2 days off, rotating 2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights, 10‑hour shifts
  • Additional roster variations apply depending on the machine area

 

About You

  • Australian-recognised First Class Machinist or Fitter Machinist Trade Certificate
  • Skilled with measuring tools (callipers, dial indicators, bore micrometers, etc.)
  • Experience operating vertical boring machines and horizontal boring machine.
  • Confident interpreting drawings and holding tight tolerances
  • Good time management and basic computer skills
  • Desirable: Forklift, rigging or dogging licences
