First Class Machinist - Machine Shop

Reporting into the Machine Shop Supervisor, the First Class Machinist will join our Machine Shop on a Full-Time basis at our South Guildford, Perth, WA location. This role involves operating CNC Vertical Borer and/or CNC and manual machines.

 

Department Overview: Our Machine Shop specialises in the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of all components on machinery. We provide comprehensive solutions to ensure the efficient operation of all machinery, focusing on safety, reliability, and performance. Our team of skilled technicians and engineers is dedicated to delivering high-quality service and support, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to meet the needs of our clients across various industries.

 

Roster: 5 On, 2 Off - 2 weeks dayshift, 2 weeks nightshift – 10 hrs/day

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate CNC Vertical Borer and/or CNC and manual machines
  • Prioritise workload effectively and strive for customer satisfaction
  • Focus on safety and use safety and risk assessment tools such as Job Safety Analysis and Take 5's
  • Read engineering drawings and produce quality work within quoted tolerances and time frames

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Australian recognised First-Class Machinist OR Fitter Machinist Trade Certificate
  • Knowledge of how to set and use gauges such as callipers, bore micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
  • Experience in operating Vertical boring machines
  • Strong time management skills and basic computer skills
  • Experience in reading engineering drawings and producing quality work within quoted tolerances and time frames
  • Forklift, rigging and dogging licenses (Desired)
