Reporting to the Project Support Supervisor, the Heavy Diesel Mechanic will carry out repairs, diagnostics, maintenance, and servicing on a wide range of Caterpillar equipment.

The variety of equipment includes (but is not limited to) D10T and D11T Dozers, 994K and 854K Wheel Loaders, 24M Graders and 793/789/785 Haul Trucks. This work will be completed in a collaborative team environment, with a strong focus on safety.

Location: Roy Hill Mine Site

Roster: 7 Days On, 7 Nights On and 14 Days Off (12.5 hr shifts, including 30-minute unpaid meal break) OR

7 Days on, 7 Nights On and 7 Days Off (12.5 hr shifts, including 30-minute unpaid meal break)

To be successful the following is required: 

• Australian-recognised Heavy-Duty Trade Certificate
• HR-Licence
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Excellent fault-finding skills, trouble shooting and diagnostics
• Previous post trade Caterpillar experience in a field service environment (advantageous)
• Experience on C175 CAT Engines is highly regarded and will guide you to success within this role
• Be well aligned and exhibit WesTrac’s SPARC values of Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect and Custome
