Drills Specialist

Reporting to the Drills Supervisor, the Drills Specialist will join our DDS Team on a FIFO basis here at Westrac. This role involves being the link between the Customer and Westrac establishing a connection for current and future works for all Drills technical product information, documentation, and continuous improvement concepts. The Specialist will pro-actively assist with Drills preventative maintenance schedules as well as maintenance teams for planning work scopes and trouble shooting.

Department Overview:

The Diggers and Drills department is a dedicated business unit that provides aftermarket product support to the growing population of HMS and drill products across the state.
We provide Specialists and site support technicians through our regional branch network support, bringing specialised hands-on product technical support and breakdown response.

 

Roster –Various rosters, 12.5 Hrs/Day 

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Technical Maintenance and Diagnostics – Oversee and execute proactive and preventative maintenance
  • Equipment Servicing – Perform servicing and repairs through shutdown and breakdown periods
  • Planning & Reporting – Provide technical input into shutdown planning and proactive maintenance
  • Training & Collaboration – Upskill staff where possible through on the job training
  • Work across a variety of regional sites providing technical support

 

Skills & Experience: 

  • HD Plant mechanic qualification/certification
  • HR-Licence
  • 10+ years post trade relevant experience including Field Service exposure with CAT Drills
  • CAT/OEM Dealership experience with CAT/Terex/Bucyrus fleet 5+ years
  • High level of competence on mobile hydraulic & low voltage electrical systems used in Hydraulic Mining Shovels
  • Demonstrated understanding of machine application on site, optimum operation knowledge
  • Ability to work autonomously or with others & lead customer work groups onsite, instruct/teach & knowledge share
