About the Role

Get hands-on experience alongside highly skilled tradespeople, rebuilding critical engine components that keep heavy machinery moving. You’ll dismantle and assemble components, perform basic mechanical tasks, and learn from the best in the business—all while building skills that open doors to future opportunities.

 

About the Team

Our Large Engines team is the backbone of reliability for heavy-duty equipment. From complete engine rebuilds and component overhauls to specialised marine engine maintenance, we deliver precision and performance through our Component Rebuild Centre in Guildford.

 

Roster

  • Monday to Friday – 10.5 hrs per day (including 30 mins unpaid break)
  • Rotating shifts: 2 weeks day shift, 2 weeks night shift

 

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble and disassemble CAT components
  • Perform basic mechanical repairs under expert guidance
  • Conduct checks and inspections on components
  • Operate forklifts (valid high-risk licence required)
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
  • Support qualified technicians with tooling and parts preparation

 

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Trade Assistant in a mechanical setting
  • Forklift licence essential; Dogging ticket highly desirable (or willingness to obtain)
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with safety tools like Job Safety Analysis and Take 5’s
