Your new role as Component Technician Leading Hand reports to the Workshop Supervisor.

 

About Welshpool

The Fabrication & Mining Components team supports all areas across WesTrac, working on new machines, rebuilds, and components of all sizes. Specialising in on-site repairs and warranty support, fabricating and repairing items from brackets to truck chassis.

 

Location: Welshpool

Roster - Monday to Friday 10.5 hour days Inclusive of meal break

  

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for overseeing the cleaning and preparation of components for assembly and repair.
  • Leading a team to ensure that all components are cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, and meeting production deadlines.
  • Completing Component repair/rebuild quotes
  • Setting up Job Packs and Planning daily tasks for team members.
  • Working with Vendors to have components completed outside of WesTrac. 
  • Part's management. Ensuring parts have arrived and are in the bay's ready for work completion.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Machine assembler or Component Technician with experience in multiple components or machines. 
  • Previous leadership experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of component cleanout cleaning processes
  • Caterpillar product knowledge, component change out experience - Preferred
  • Experience with Caterpillar Systems (ET, SIS, VIMS) desirable
  • Dedication to a safe working environment and quality work for our customers
  • Ability to work night shifts, additional hours and weekends/extra days as required to support the team 
  • Ability to work within a team & autonomously
