Your new role as a Boilermaker/Welder will see you completing various tasks on our large mining equipment across Machine Rebuilds and New Machines. The main techniques used to complete these tasks will be through; mainly flux core, solid wire, tig welding and arc air gouging. Your proficiency in those techniques will guide to success within this role and will set you up for career progression with WesTrac. Other tasks may include utilising our forklifts, dogging and rigging to move large pieces of equipment and/or components of machinery throughout the workshop. 

 

Although this is purely Welshpool based, this opportunity will also support a variety of projects including but not limited to short term FIFO work or assisting other metro branches as needed in Guildford or at the Perth Airport.

Roster: Casual - Monday to Friday - 8.5 Hour days (including meal break)

To be successful the following is required:

  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate – Boilermaker/Welder is essential
  • High Risk Forklift Licence (LF) is essential
  • Dogging/Rigging (DG/RG) is highly advantageous or willing to obtain
  • Experience with large mining earth moving equipment including ancillary parts (Desirable)
  • Computer literate, able to use work management systems and read engineering drawings 
  • Strong understanding of the importance of Safety and quality of work
  • Great communication skills and positive attitude
