Join WesTrac's Diggers & Drills Team as an Auto Electrician
Take your trade expertise on the road with a FIFO role supporting some of WA's largest mining operations. Reporting to the Diggers Supervisor, you'll work across a diverse range of field service, site-based support and workshop activities, providing specialised Auto electrical diagnostics, maintenance and repair support on CAT equipment. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in delivering high-quality workmanship, troubleshooting complex faults, maintaining equipment reliability, and supporting customers to maximise machine performance across multiple mine sites.

The Diggers and Drills department is a specialised group focused on supporting a growing fleet of across Western Australia.
Backed by WesTrac's strong regional network, our team delivers high-quality, on-site technical support and breakdown response.
You'll be joining an experienced, close-knit group that values knowledge sharing, teamwork, and doing the job right the first time.
Roster
8 Days On, 6 Days Off | 12 Hour Days
What You'll Do
- Electrical Diagnostics & Fault Finding – Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic and control system faults on CAT drill equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance & Repairs – Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs and inspections to ensure optimal machine performance and reliability.
- Field Service Support – Provide technical support across mine sites, responding to breakdowns and supporting planned maintenance activities.
- Workshop & Site-Based Work – Assist with site workshop activities and provide backfill support across broader PSA operations as required.
- Customer Support & Collaboration – Build strong customer relationships through quality workmanship, clear communication and professional service.
- Continuous Improvement & Learning – Contribute to a culture of safety, teamwork and ongoing development while sharing knowledge with colleagues.
Skills & Experience
- Australian recognised Auto Electrician Trade Qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years post-trade experience
- Demonstrated experience working on heavy mining, construction or mobile plant equipment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability across electrical systems
- Commitment to quality workmanship and taking pride in delivering work to a high standard
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a team environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Safety-focused approach to all work activities
