Reporting into the Workshop Supervisor, the Auto Electrician Leading Hand will join our New Machines Team on a Full-Time basis at our Guildford site. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Leading Hand Auto Electrician will be leading and motivating a crew of up to 10 employees within the New Machines workshop. They will be promoting and encouraging high safety standards and showcase a positive can-do attitude. This individual will be assisting in training their team members and working alongside all members whilst dealing with high volume work.

 

The New Machines Department at WesTrac specializes in providing cutting-edge machinery solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the mining industry. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient Caterpillar equipment to enhance operational productivity and safety.

 

 Roster: Monday to Friday. 10.5 hours (including a meal break)

 

 What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead and motivate a team of up to 10 employees within the New Machines Team.
  • Work alongside team member to manage and complete high volume tasks efficiently
  • Promote, encourage and monitor safety to a high standard within the team

 

 Skills & Experience: 

  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (Auto Electrician)
  • Exposure to mining / construction equipment or other industrial areas such as agriculture or highway trucks, hire equipment is highly considered
  • CAT equipment experience is highly desirable
  • Team leadership experience with ability to lead from the front with Safety as this will be paramount
  • Strong understanding of KPI metrics from receiving a task to component dispatch
  • Ability to coach and mentor teams
