Apprentice Trainer

Reporting to the Pre-Trade Training Supervisor, the Technical Trainer (Pre-Trade Trainer) are accountable for consistently developing, delivering and assessing apprentice training in accordance with required standards and WesTrac’s Core Values. Providing high levels of customer service for both internal and external WesTrac clients, managing the administrative functions of training, assessing and reporting whilst maintaining compliance in line with RTO requirements.

 

Location:  South Guildford, WA

Roster: Monday – Friday, 8 hours (Flexible Work Options Available)

 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Provides a safe training environment and ensure all participants are safe, information provided is aligned to WesTrac’s safety requirements
  • Delivers scheduled training courses in accordance with required standards and to the approved curriculum
  • Completes all relevant course and participant documentation associated with the training delivered (e.g. post-course training records/paperwork)
  • Develops training material, resources and assessment materials in collaboration with other trainers and subject matter experts to support the delivery of training courses to internal and external stakeholders ensuring compliance with required standards (e.g. Standards for Registered Training Organisations and/or Caterpillar requirements).
  • Works as a team to ensure training delivery and customer service and support is maintained, including with the broader L&D Training teams
  • Undertake regular reviews/evaluation of learning programs and make appropriate documented recommendations for modification/course improvement as required and participate in curriculum validation
  • Conduct resits and holds appropriately and complete apprentice journal marking to assist with meeting RTO standards for apprentice completions

 

 

 

Experience and Knowledge:

 

 

  • Certificate IV TAE or equivalent (if not held then a commitment to working with the business to obtain training qualifications in a reasonable timeframe)
  • Trade Qualification relevant to the role of either Automotive Electrician or Mobile Plant Mechanic or significant demonstrated industry equivalent with a relevant trade qualification
  • Experience working with Apprentices and providing VET level training and assessments
  • Experience within the industry of servicing or operating equipment
  • Trades experience
  • Caterpillar equipment exposure and knowledge (advantageous)
