Plant Mechanic

Reporting to the Superintendent, the Heavy Mobile Plant Mechanic will play a vital role in delivering successful outcomes from several key areas of focus.
This role is centred around quality control, a significant aspect of this position involves hydraulic hose work on scheduled machine repairs and includes fabrication and replacement of hydraulic hoses to support unplanned HME (Heavy Mobile Equipment) events.
In addition to hose related tasks, you will apply your HD trade skills to conduct scheduled machine inspections and occasionally perform servicing and minor repairs across a large CAT production and ancillary fleet.
Location: Gudai Darri, Newman - Progressive site with high-tech gear including autonomous
Roster: FIFO from Perth - 8 days on, 6 days off, 12-hour days plus 30 mins. unpaid break
To be successful the following is required:
• Australian-recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge as a CAT certified hose builder/ specialist.
• Previous experience performing fleet audits on a mine site.
• Previous hose inventory management experience.
• Exposure to SAP and related systems in collaboration with site planners.
• Confidently process warranty claims and deliver monthly reporting.
• Ability to provide continuous improvement on process and surplus stocks.
• Proficiently remove, build, and install hoses reducing downtime.
