About the role
WesTrac is seeking an experienced Resident Field Service Plant Mechanic to join the team in Tweed Heads!
A Resident Field Service role with WesTrac will see you utilising your diagnostic skills to troubleshoot, repair and service a range of Caterpillar equipment for OEM customers. With a high level of autonomy, our technicians work to provide a service like no other!
Proximity to site will be taken into consideration throughout the application process.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing repairs, maintenance and inspections on a range of customer equipment
- Diagnosing and reporting for preventative maintenance
- Autonomously providing solutions, service and satisfaction to our customer
- Liaising and building a strong customer base and providing timely product support
- Documenting work and completing any required documentation
- Scheduling jobs and ordering parts as necessary
- Roster: Monday to Friday Day Shift
- Hours: 8-hour days, 6:30am-3pm
- Hourly rates from $52.30 + $78.45 OT + Super + Service Ute

Skills & Experience
- Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or Mechanical trade qualification with heavy industry experience
- Australian recognised Certificate of Proficiency (COP)
- Familiar with Caterpillar Equipment
- Exposure to CAT systems like SIS or ET is highly desirable
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously in the field and in a team
- Current Drivers Licence
