Storeperson / Parts Interpreter

Reporting to the Parts Supervisor in Geraldton, the Store Person / Parts Interpreter is responsible for receiving customer orders for Caterpillar parts and/or general enquiries via phone, email and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of processing for continued customer loyalty and the utilisation of WesTrac as the preferred supplier of Caterpillar parts.
About our Geraldton Branch
Our Geraldton team provide Cat® machinery solutions to suit any earthmoving business including both new and used equipment sales, heavy equipment rental, as well as parts, servicing and merchandise.
Roster: Monday – Friday, 9.5 hours (including meal break) with rostered 5 hours every second Saturday
What You’ll Do:
- Parts interpreting - Accurately identify and source parts for a wide range of equipment, ensuring customers receive the correct components for their needs. You’ll use technical knowledge and systems to interpret part numbers and provide expert advice
- Assisting customers - Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, providing product information, and supporting customers with solutions. This includes both face-to-face and phone interactions to maintain strong relationships.
- General warehousing - Perform day-to-day warehouse tasks such as receiving, storing, and dispatching parts. You’ll help maintain inventory accuracy, ensure stock is organised, and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Willingness to learn
- Computer literacy – with effective communication skills
- Parts ordering and processing experience (training will be provided)
- Previous experience working in a similar warehouse environment or parts interpreting.
- Positive attitude with great attention to detail
- Customer service skills – previous experience liaising with customers and handling customer enquiries seen as advantageous
- High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (Desirable)
- A demonstrated understanding of Caterpillar equipment and parts (Desirable)
