Based in Narngulu for the last 30 years the Geraldton workshop has a team of 20+ employees providing support to the local Caterpillar Brand, diverse range of task to keep you engaged with your career from Full Life Machine Rebuild, Component Overhaul inclusive of C18 Engines, Grader Transmissions & Axle Groups for the state, Warranty repairs, Troubleshooting, Service & Maintenance of Cat Equipment & some local field support for local Customers, modern day fully equipped workshop with 2 Overhead Cranes, dedicated component overhaul bays with automated parts washers, modern wash pad facility designed with Caterpillar Contamination Control guidelines.

You will have touch points for all things Cat from small BCON machines to the Larger Mining Equipment, Road Transport C15 Engines, Power Generation & the Marine Engine product line.

 

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanic is responsible in carrying out regular maintenance schedules and repairs on Caterpillar products in the workshop.


Tasks will include but not limited to repairs, servicing and managing work orders to extend the life cycle of the machines in a supportive work environment. Your technical skills will also involve implementing product improvement plans and product support programs whilst operating to safe work practices in a collaborative manner.


Location: Residential - Geraldton 

Roster Options: 9/5 or 9/4/5/3 - 10 hour days with option for overtime.

To be successful the following is required:

•    Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate or equivalent.
•    Demonstrated ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines.
•    Work well within a team environment.
•    Have a strong passion for quality of work & continuous improvement principles.
•    Previous mechanical experience working on Caterpillar products desirable but not essential.
•    Be well aligned and exhibit WesTrac’s SPARC values of Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect 

          and Customer.
