About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Plant Mechanic for a Resident Field Service role in the Parkes region.

The Parkes resident will support all Caterpillar customers in this region operating as part of the WesTrac Dubbo Field Service team. Based in Parkes, the position will deliver quality customer service to our loyal Caterpillar customer base in the Parkes, Forbes, Weddin and Lachlan Shire Regions.

 

This position will allow you to work autonomously as you apply your high level of technical skills and expertise to servicing and repairing Caterpillar machinery for our customer base including Local Govt, Agriculture, Quarry's, Construction (Road and Civil), Road Transport, Underground Mining and Industrial Engines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing repairs, maintenance and inspections on a range of customer equipment
  • Diagnosing and reporting for preventative maintenance
  • Autonomously providing solutions, service and satisfaction to our customer
  • Liaising and building a strong customer base and providing timely product support
  • Documenting work and completing any required documentation
  • Scheduling jobs and ordering parts as necessary  

 

Roster and Remuneration

  • Roster: 10.5-Hour Shifts, 5/2 Monday – Friday
  • Rates: From $55.57 per hour, O.T From $83.36 per hour
  • Potential earnings of up to 200k per annum

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Heavy mechanical trade qualification (Cert III Mobile plant preferred)
  • Post-trade experience in a similar role
  • Caterpillar product knowledge and maintenance experience, excellent diagnostic and repair skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously in the field
  • Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements and providing service excellence
  • Dedication to maintaining safe work practices and environment
  • Experience with DBS, SIS and SIMSI desirable
