In this Sales Representative role, you will manage a designated customer portfolio, nurture key stakeholder relationships, and drive growth through exceptional service and customised solutions.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing tailored strategies that support customers with their equipment requirements, purchases, and value‑added solutions. With a strong focus on capital equipment sales and technology‑driven offerings, you will play a vital role in increasing market share while ensuring an outstanding customer experience aligned with WesTrac’s broader sales and growth objectives.

This is a full‑time position based in Canberra, with regular travel to customer sites within your territory and to corporate offices across NSW.


 Key Accountabilities 

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet customer requirements and deliver on sales targets
  • Negotiation and sales for capital equipment and technology solutions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Caterpillar to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
  • Provide regular reports including sales forecasts to allow for effective operational planning 
  • Proactively identify business development opportunities within relevant markets
  • Maintain a work standard in line with Company guidelines


About You  

  • Strong negotiation, influencing skills, and commercial acumen
  • Proven key account management experience with measurable results
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities
  • Solid understanding of the environmental, economic, and operational drivers behind customer decisions
  • Demonstrated sales capability with a track record of increasing market share and driving conversions
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and heavy mining machinery, including total cost of ownership
  • Tertiary business qualifications and/or a mechanical trade background (highly regarded)
  • High level of computer literacy
