Plant Mechanic - Field Service

Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, the Field Service Plant Mechanic will be responsible for, but not limited to carrying out warranty and customer repairs on a range of CAT machinery and associated products in a timely and efficient manner. This is a customer facing role, you will be required to offer support and advice, as well as carry out maintenance on the customer fleet.
WesTrac Bunbury provides adaptable Caterpillar solutions from Mandurah to Albany. Our technicians handle diverse machinery, offering services, rebuilds, deliveries, and overhauls. With a diverse team and skill set you will have to maintain high focus on all safety aspects complying with WesTrac’s and our customers policies and procedures.
Location: Bunbury to Collie (DIDO)
Roster Options:
8 days on 6 days off - 12.5 hrs (inc. 30 mins unpaid break)
What You’ll Do:
- Visiting customer sites to diagnose faults on Caterpillar equipment
- Carrying out repairs, maintenance and servicing of mining and marine machinery
- Managing work orders and warranty support
- Carry out Product Improvement Plans and Product Support Programs
- Maintaining and operating a safe work environment
- Assisting the Customer to achieve machine availability and reliability KPI’s
To be successful the following is required:
- Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Technology Trade Certificate or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in an isolated and remote environment
- Extensive diagnostic and fault-finding skills through CAT SIS & CAT ET
- Previous port trade Caterpillar experience in a field service environment
- Demonstrated strong safety values
- Ability to organise work teams and delegate tasks’
- Extensive diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Must have a forklift ticket
- Must have a minimum LR Drivers Licence
- Caterpillar knowledge and maintenance experience
