Reporting into the Field Service Supervisor, the Field Service Plant Mechanic will join our Bunbury department on a full-time permanent basis supporting customers in and around Southwest region. This role will cover all aspect of Caterpillar fleet maintenance, repairs and diagnosing but not limited to warranty support for the customers.

WesTrac Bunbury provides adaptable Caterpillar solutions from Mandurah to Albany. Our technicians handle diverse machinery, offering services, rebuilds, deliveries, and overhauls.


Location: Southwest Region / Bunbury


Roster: 

9 Days on, 5 Days Off – 10.5-hours each day (inc. 30 mins meal break)
8 Days, 6 Days Off - 10.5-hours each day (inc. 30 mins meal break)


What You’ll Do: 

  • Visiting customer sites to diagnose faults on Caterpillar equipment 
  • Carrying out repairs, maintenance and servicing of mining and marine machinery  
  • Managing work orders and warranty support
  • Carry out Product Improvement Plans and Product Support Programs 
  • Maintaining and operating a safe work environment 
  • Assisting the Customer to achieve machine availability and reliability KPI’s
      

Skills & Experience: 

  • Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Trade Certificate with similar post trade experience
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License and LR license (as a minimum) is essential
  • High Risk Work Licence - (i.e. LF, DG, WP, WAH)
  • Refrigerant Handling License (Preferred but not essential) 
  • Proficient at diagnostic and fault-finding skills through CAT SIS & CAT ET
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in an isolated and remote environment
