Resident Field Service Mechanic – COWRA REGION

WesTrac is seeking an experience plant mechanic, heavy vehicle mechanic and/or agricultural mechanic to represent the Cowra Region as a Resident Field Service Plant Mechanic.  

Reporting to the Bathurst Field Service Supervisor, this role utilises your diagnostic expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and service a large variety of Cat equipment for our OEM customers in the Cowra region.

This role will leverage your product expertise and advanced diagnostic abilities to deliver exceptional support and solutions for services and breakdowns. As the Resident Field Service Plant Mechanic, you will ensure customer satisfaction is met and exceeded with efficient and safe operations of Cat machinery in heavy industries.


Roster & Remuneration

  • Monday – Friday role, dayshift only.
  • 10.5 Hour Shifts
  • Potential earnings from $140,000 - $160,000 + tool of trade vehicle + phone + laptop

*Above rates are a guide; each candidate will be assessed on skill and experience


What are we looking for?

  • Australian recognised mechanical trade - Cert III Mobile Plant Technology, Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology
  • Caterpillar product knowledge and maintenance experience
  • Experience working as a field service mechanic
  • Excellent diagnostic and repair skills and a strong commitment to service excellence
  • Excellent attitude to your work, and dedication to safe work practices
  • Ability to work autonomously to a high standard
  • Applicants with site bans are ineligible for Field Service Positions
