Auto Electrician – Bathurst Workshop

 

Our Bathurst team is seeking Workshop Auto Electricians to join the team!

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, an Auto Electrician with WesTrac is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a range of CAT machines - Wheel Tractor-Scrapers through to R3000 Series Loaders. Your expertise and technical skills will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our customer’s equipment. With a strong focus on safety, you will bring a drive and motivation to succeed in delivering high-quality work.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and repairs on a range of mining equipment and general construction machines including diagnosing electrical issues, troubleshooting problems, and conducting necessary repairs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct inspections of electrical systems to identify any potential issues or areas requiring maintenance which involves assessing the condition of electrical components, wiring, and connections
  • Utilize your expertise in electrical systems to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical problems which may involve using diagnostic tools, reading wiring diagrams, and consulting technical manuals to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Full machine rebuilds, replace/overhaul complete machine electrical system including mine site additional electrical add on systems, fire suppression, grease systems, load rite, battery and starter isolator installation etc.

 

Remuneration & Roster

  • Monday to Friday, dayshift only
  • Potential earnings from $113,000 - $150,000

Desired Skills & Experience 

  • Cert III Automotive Electrical Technology (essential)
  • Previous mining or heavy vehicle experience highly regarded
  • Sound working knowledge of Caterpillar equipment 
  • Ability to work autonomously if required 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Strong time management skills 
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills, with a commitment to meeting customer requirements
