Plant Mechanic | Field Service – Western NSW

WesTrac is seeking experienced Plant and Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our Field Service team supporting key customer sites across the Western NSW region, including Cadia, Lake Cowal, Cobar, Tamworth and surrounding areas.

Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you will utilise your mechanical expertise to diagnose, service and repair a wide range of Caterpillar equipment in the field. With a strong focus on safety and customer service, you will work independently across multiple sites, ensuring our customers get the most from their machines and experience minimal downtime.

Roster and Remuneration

  • Roster: 7 days on / 7 days off

  • Shift: 12‑hour day shifts only

  • Meals: Provided or reimbursed

  • Vehicle: Supplied or reimbursed

  • Potential annual earnings: Highly competitive, assessed individually based on skills and experience \*Rates above are a guide only and each candidate will be assessed based on competencies and experience.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent

  • Experience working on Caterpillar equipment

  • OEM experience (highly desirable)

  • Exposure to SIS or ET (highly desirable)

  • Strong diagnostic and repair capability

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously in the field

  • Current driver’s licence
