WesTrac are looking for an experienced WA Engineering Manager to join our team in this newly created role.

Reporting to the Group Manager - Operations & Sales Support, this individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Engineering function based in WA. Responsibilities include product design, engineering and manufacturing support, sub-contractor management, OEM engagement and ongoing development of the Dealer Provided Options (DPO) Process for new and aftermarket services, whist providing ongoing engineering support to the wider business.

This individual will play a pivotal role in in the development of an engineering centre of excellence and resultant strategies whereby engineering services support various WesTrac operational activities across WA. The engineering division includes various facets of engineering covering mechanical, electrical, technology, drafting and technical writing. This individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of departmental operational plans, policies and procedures and will have a strong focus in planning and continuous improvement space.

This individual will be required to demonstrate effective Leadership whilst being responsible for providing coaching and mentoring to their teams and building and driving a culture that is safe, productive and enjoyable.  

To be successful the following is required: 

  • Tertiary qualifications within business, commerce or engineering discipline, coupled with significant experience working within an engineering management position
  • Have advanced leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire, influence and motivate a multidisciplinary team
  • High level of commercial acumen with cost management experience
  • Demonstrated experience working on digitisation projects and implementation
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to achieve tight deadlines
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) with the ability to effectively liaise at a high level with a diverse range of interdepartmental team members
  • High level of initiative and problem-solving skills with the ability and drive to follow through with required actions
