About the Role

The CI Customer Performance Manager (CPM) is responsible for the development of the NSW CI product strategy to deliver competitive advantage and revenue and market share growth for the business. The CPM will play a pivotal role in supporting sales execution through the Heavy Construction team. This role will be required to maintain a strategic perspective of the entire construction business considering longer-term issues, opportunities and contingencies to ensure ongoing business success. In addition to product strategy, the CPM will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the Rental and Used Equipment (UE) teams to deliver growth in these areas.

This position will be offered on a full-time permanent basis, working Monday to Friday, based at either our Casula (preferred) or Tomago facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the execution of the NSW CI Product strategy through leading a high performing team who provide strategic advice and guidance to the heavy construction business unit in the areas of technology, product application, product positioning, value selling, DPO management and product consist.
  • Ensure core products have a product strategy and a unique selling proposition (USP) which considers and aligns; the NSW market demand, customer application, customer decision making factors, product consist and product price.
  • Monitor and evaluate the external business environment to identify and quantify industry and market trends. Be the business expert for industry trends, business drivers and competitive forces in the target markets by utilizing the market intelligence to direct marketing campaigns and service excellence to promote WesTrac to be the customer’s first choice in equipment solutions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive system and process enhancement across the CI team to ensure quality end to end customer experience is delivered.
  • Continue to build on the existing NSW Rental and Used Equipment sales strategy to position WesTrac for growth in these areas.
  • Together with the existing Rental and UE Leadership team, lead the Rental and UE sales teams in supporting customer requirements for used equipment sales, appraisals and trades.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary Qualification within the field of Business, Commerce or similar, coupled with 5-10 years demonstrated experience in a similar role leading a high performing team, preferably in product or sales management.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Advanced leadership/people management experience with the ability to inspire, influence and motivate teams across multiple functions not directly within the reporting line.
  • Demonstrated ability in the promotion of a positive organisational culture that promotes and encourages ongoing leadership, learning, skills development and performance excellence.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills – prior experience completing market and customer analysis and development of product strategy that aligns.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong customer focus – track record delivering customer driven solutions and implementing initiatives to improve overall customer experience
  • Caterpillar product knowledge and/or knowledge in the heavy equipment industry highly desirable.
