Resident Field Service Plant Mechanic – Armidale

About the role

WesTrac is seeking an experienced Resident Field Service Plant Mechanic. The successful applicant will be a motivated individual, who has 5 years post trade experience, particularly with Machine repairs and the servicing and maintenance of various Cat equipment. You will bring a high level of technical skills and expertise to the role, along with a strong drive and motivation to succeed and commit to a team. We are looking for someone who has their Plant Mechanic qualifications or similar, as well as Cat system knowledge.

The Resident Field Service Plant Mechanic will cover the Armidale LGA area; therefore they must reside within the area. WesTrac also offers a relocation allowance for candidates willing to relocate to the area.

You will be reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, working alongside a team of experienced Field Service Plant Mechanic’s. Predominately, you will be required to do field service repairs and at times assist in the workshop. The position on offer is a permanent, full time role working 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.

Skills & Experience

  • Plant Mechanical trade qualifications
  • Order 43 (Or willing to complete)
  • Minimum 5 years post trade experience in a field maintenance position or similar
  • Current HR drivers licence (highly regarded)
  • Basic computer skills
  • High attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Sound working knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is highly regarded
  • Original Equipment Manufacturer experience, particularly with CAT equipment, field exposure; including breakdowns and diagnostics, will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills, with a commitment to meeting customer requirements
  • Demonstrates the WesTrac SPARC values of Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect and Customer
  • Nationally accredited Forklift, Dogman, and Working at Height tickets
