An exciting opportunity for a Plant Mechanic based at our Kewdale workshop.

The ideal candidate will have experience in mining machine component rebuilds, transmissions, engines and CAT computer programs. The successful candidate will have access to new facilities, a modern/clean workshop, first class training and the latest equipment information.

About the role

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor your roster will be Monday to Friday, 10 hours per shift. Day shift and afternoon rotating roster.

• Carry out repairs, inspections and overhauls on power train transmissions and engines.
• Knowledge of diagnosis / fault finding and troubleshooting on power train transmissions.
• Required to complete service reports, identify parts requirements and complete time sheets
• Risk Assessments for every task, maintaining and focusing on safe work practices and a safe work environment
• Good understanding and compliance to contamination control.

About You

• Mechanical Trade Qualification
• Demonstrated component rebuild experience
• Strong understanding and experience with Caterpillar equipment
• Current C Class Licence
• Previous use of safety and risk assessment tools, such as Job Safety Analysis and Take 5's

 It is desirable for you to have;

• Elevated Work Platform
• Dogging & Basic Rigging (or be willing to obtain)
• Forklift Licence
• Working at Heights & Confined Spaces
