The successful applicant will be responsible for the hands on supervision of trade & non trade contract personnel as well as carrying out mechanical repairs and maintenance to equipment enrolled within the contract.

Job Details:

  • Reporting to Contracts Supervisor
  • 7 days, 7 nights, 7 off, fly in fly out from Perth
  • 12.5 hours per shift inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid meal break

You will be responsible for both workshop and pit repairs at Murrin Murrin, situated approximately 60km east of Leonora of Western Australia. Equipment may include CAT such as 785C Trucks; 992G Loaders; 777D Water Carts; 16H Graders; 844 Wheel Dozer; D10R Dozers; 950H Loader and a 773E Service Truck.

Accommodation / Camp Facilities:

The camp offers rooms fully furnished and linen is provided. There are a number of recreation facilities at the camp including a gymnasium with an on-site Fitness Trainer for weight training and the development of a personal fitness program, soccer/rugby courts, cricket nets, volley ball court, tennis courts, basketball/netball courts, 25 metre swimming pool, an oval, BBQ facilities, a bike/running track between the Site & Village (approx distance 8km) and a walking/running/bike track around the Village (distance approx 2 km).

There is a shop that sells a range of food, reading and personal products with eftpos available for purchases. Mobile phones connected to Telstra Mobilenet will operate both at the Site and Village. Selected Foxtel channels are available in addition to in-house video channels

 Job Duties:

  • Carry out repairs, maintenance and servicing on a range of Caterpillar Equipment
  • Identifying and recommending preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Completion of in field diagnosis and repairs
  • Completing warranty repair work and reports
  • Manage work orders including ordering parts as required
  • Carrying out Caterpillar product improvement plans and product support program
  • Maintaining safe work practices and a safe work environment

Essential Criteria:

  • Australian Recognised Heavy Duty Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Leadership experience with the ability to build a cohesive team with a common goal
  • 5 years post Trade experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Self-motivated with a responsible and committed attitude to work
  • Previous experience with mining equipment essential
  • Caterpillar product knowledge and maintenance experience
  • Previous use of safety and risk assessment tools, such as Job Safety Analysis and Take 5's
  • Ability to work successfully within a team, autonomously and unsupervised
  • Current C Class Licence – HR Preferred
