About the role

Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to carrying out warranty and customer repairs on a range of CAT machinery and associated products in a timely and efficient manner. You will be required to carry out field service work on a regular basis throughout the Kimberley Region, and you have access to the latest training and technical knowledge relating to the CAT product in both workshop and field positions. 

Armed with a field service ute, you will be required to visit customer sites to not only diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment, but also complete warranty repair work and reports. Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for identifying and recommending preventative maintenance on customer equipment in the Kununurra area. This position will require you to provide technical support as an advisor on maintenance and technical issues, undertake regular equipment inspections and prove recommendations for appropriate actions as a result of findings.

Located on the eastern edge of the Kimberley region, Kununurra is spoilt with many natural attractions including gorges, ranges, cliffs and lakes such as the infamous Lake Argyle. • 10 hours per shift

You will also be required to have sound customer relations and interpersonal skills and the ability to work completely unsupervised. Your responsibilities will also include;

• Manage work orders including ordering parts as required
• Carrying out Caterpillar product improvement plans and product support program
• Maintaining safe work practices and a safe work environment
• Deliver first class customer service
• Ability to work under pressure in an isolated and remote environment
• Ability to work flexible rosters and hours at short notice

Essential Criteria:

• Australian recognised Heavy-Duty Trade Certificate with a minimum of 5 years post trade experience in a field service environment
• Extensive diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in an isolated and remote environment
• Ability to work and seek out work opportunities without continuous direct supervision
• Ability to work effectively within a team and have a strong commitment to continuous improvement principles
• Strive to assist the Customer to achieve machine availability and reliability KPI’s
• Previous mechanical experience working on Caterpillar products

 Desirable Criteria:

• High Risk Work Licence (i.e. LF, DG, RG, EWP)
• Working at Heights
• Heavy Rigid Licence
• Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Familiarity with service literature
